Water Treatmen
ProCaribe
is a 100% Mexican owned company specializing in building homes. Committed to
the sustainable and orderly development of the new municipality of Tulum, we
offer our customers the best technology for the management of their wastewater.
To
better understand the importance, let’s look at the following questions
- What is a wastewater treatment plant?
- Why use a wastewater treatment plant and not a septic tank?
- What advantages does it offer over a septic tank?
A wastewater treatment plant, as its name
suggests, is a system which collects and handles sewage and transforms it into
cleaner water. These systems are usually used in cities and population centers
for the reuse of the sewage produced by the community, transforming it to
provide water for agriculture, industry and other activities.
At
ProCaribe we apply the same technology but on a smaller scale for dwellings.
The traditional way of storing the wastewater
of a house is by using a septic tank which is a large pit or hole made
in the land with solid coated walls to store sewage. Septic tanks can also be
prefabricated with the same function of storing water. When it is full the pit
is emptied by a pump or is sent directly to an absorption pit or wetland.
After
understanding the difference between a septic tank and treatment plant, with
the septic tank releasing the sewage
into the ground and the water plant cleaning and reusing the water, we can see
importance of including a residential water treatment plant to prevent
contaminating the underground water table, the very place where we extract the
water for our daily use for showering and cleaning.
As
Tulum sits directly above one of the largest underground rivers in the world it
is very important to care for it , which is why ProCaribe recommendeds avoiding
the use of a traditional septic tank system, and adding a Waste Water Treatment
Plant (WWTP) AREP. WWTP AREP is a treatment system that produces no sludge or
fetid smell.
- They are prefabricated.
- They are made of durable long lasting fiberglass.
- They are small.
- They are efficient.
- They are inexpensive.
- They are easy to install.
- They require zero maintenance.

will treat you worse"
